The 38th edition of the Havana International Fair (FIHAV 2022) successfully concluded this Friday, having achieved the planned objectives, said the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Ana Teresita González.
Speaking at the final ceremony of the Fair, the official said the event allowed to show the transformations approved in Cuba to promote its commercial development, meaning that the biggest milestone of this edition is that we not only have Cuban and foreign companies, but also new economic actors and Cubans residing abroad, which reflects the country opening in favor of building a better nation.
The presence at the meeting of government and business representatives from 62 countries and 35 foreign Chambers of Commerce at different levels is a reflection that the purposes of the event were fulfilled. The participation of 402 national professionals, including representatives of more than 300 state companies, some 70 micro, medium and small companies (MSMEs) and three non-agricultural cooperatives, also contributed to these objectives.
She considered that from now on the main challenge is to carry out the agreements reached between companies, organizations and participating actors, for which she called for the elimination of obstacles that could hinder the business and investment climate.
Later, she expressed her gratitude to the foreign exhibitors for their commitment to Cuba, despite the obstacles imposed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States on the island for more than six decades, as well as to the workers of the Palco Business Group and ExpoCuba for the effort to carry out the most successful commercial exchange of the Caribbean island.
