Cuban Medical Cooperation Scientific Conference to Take Place in December

The 4th Cuban Medical Cooperation Scientific Conference will be held from December 1 to 5, bringing together Cuban health professionals serving abroad, as well as Cuban and international medical professionals, healthcare institutions, and medical sciences students. The event coincides with several anniversaries observed in Cuba and Latin America’s health sector.

According to the organizers, the conference aims to discuss and share scientific findings, research experience, and the work carried out by Cuban internationalist medical professionals and Cuba’s healthcare system as a whole. It is guided by Fidel Castro’s principle: “Doctors, not bombs. Doctors, not smart weapons of destruction.”

Participants will also be able to present ongoing research, challenges encountered while carrying out international missions, clinical cases, studies of interest, and contributions made in the communities and healthcare facilities where they serve.

They may also share information about community health programs they manage and implement. International participants are invited to attend, present or exhibit their work, including projects that could lead to cooperation agreements, joint research or collaborative initiatives.

This year, the invitation has also been extended to foreign healthcare specialists without restriction, as well as healthcare service providers, research institutions and medical sciences students.

The conference is expected to follow a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual participation. Registration opened on September 14 through the event platform. Applicants can select one of three participation categories: ATTENDEE, SPEAKER or EXHIBITOR.

The conference is organized by the Central Unit for Medical Cooperation (UCCM) and the organizing committee of the 4th JCC. It will also pay tribute to the centenary of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.
