Concluded Nature Event Turnat 2022
After four days of conferences, presentations and tours of different places of Cuban nature, the Thirteenth International Nature Tourism Event (Turnat 2022) concluded this Saturday, which brought together tour operators, travel agencies and professionals of the sector from 19 countries.
In the opinion of organizers, this meeting, paused due to the pandemic, has provided attendees with knowledge of the benefits that the western region of the island has in terms of wonderful places to carry out different activities related to nature tourism, including hiking, horseback riding, adventure and air sports, motorcycle and buggy, mountain biking, bird watching, sport fishing, diving, kayaking, nautical and tours of agroecological farms.
Special mention should be made on this occasion to accessible and inclusive tourism, a modality to which the Turnat dedicated a large space, since the travel agency Ecotur S.A. , receptive of this event, is already working to promote the necessary conditions so that all people can travel to Cuba without limitations.
For the participants, the return of this event, which usually takes place every two years, has led to great joy for nature lovers, who see in this modality a form of relaxation and healthy recreation.
Cuba is considered privileged in this sense because it has 746 kilometers of coastline, some two thousand keys and islets, 588 kilometers of beaches suitable for tourism, as well as 211 identified protected areas (2019).
It also has six biosphere reserves: Guanahacabibes, Sierra del Rosario, Ciénaga de Zapata, Buenavista, Baconao and Cuchillas del Toa recognized by the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture (Unesco) and that can be visited by fans of this type of travel.
The 14th Edition of the International Nature Tourism Event, the most important that Cuba carries out in this modality, will be held in the eastern region of the country, which includes the provinces of Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo in 2024.
