With the presence of the Cuban Minister of Tourism, Juan Carlos García Granda, and the Canadian ambassador to the island, His Excellency Mr. GeoffGartshore, the day of that North American nation was celebrated this Tuesday at the 38th edition of the Havana International Fair ( FIHAV 2022).
Speaking at the ceremony, García Granda highlighted the economic-commercial and friendly ties between the two countries, evidence of which is that Canada ranks second as a foreign investor on the island due to the volume of operations.
Later, the importance of that nation among the issuing markets of tourists to Cuba signified, which was ratified in the first place, since until October of this year, 352,030 Canadians had visited this destination, just over 30 percent of the foreign tourists who visited Cuba.
Referring to the participation of that nation in the fair, he considered this will be a good occasion to recognize the historical value of diplomatic and consular relations in all areas between Cuba and Canada.
For his part, Mr. Gartshore stressed that beyond the existing economic-commercial relations between both countries, they are joined by strong ties of friendship between the two peoples and expressed the certainty that this fair will make it possible to continue deepening the bonds of cooperation between both nations.
Authorities from the governments of Canada and Cuba were also present at the event, as well as representatives of the more than 15 companies from the North American country participating in the event.
